New York City Ballet is introducing the Art Series where they will commission contemporary artists to create original works of art inspired by the Company, its history, and repertory. The inaugural collaboration features Brooklyn-based artists FAILE, and each attendee to the 2/1 and 5/29 Art Series performances will receive a limited-edition work made specifically for this event.

A few years back a fake Vouge cover featuring Frida pop up in the internet; Better late than never. Nearly 60 years after her death, artist Frida Kahlo will be a Vogue cover girl. Vogue Mexico used photographer Nickolas Muray’s iconic 1939 portrait of Kahlo taken in New York for its November 2012 cover to coincide with the November 22 opening of “Appearances Can Be Deceiving: The Dresses of Frida Kahlo” at the artist’s eponymous museum.
